St. James United Methodist Church (UMC)
Alexandria, VA
St. James UMC in west end Alexandria needed a fresh image for their church and asked ALine Architectures to update the church and create a unique and eye-catching architecture feature at the entrance to attract new parishioners.
Always thinking outside of the box and coming up with creative designs using architectural elements in unexpected ways, ALine Architecture designed the Bridge Wall, a redwood structure that made an immediate impact on the visual and spiritual significance of St. James Church. This was accomplished by connecting each wall element in a progressive woven pattern to represent the church's mission for stronger community support, growth, and renewal.
In addition to the creation of the Bridge Wall, ALine Architecture designed the accessibility updates, the sanctuary reclaimed wood wall, lighting, signage, furniture as well as designed and assisted in the fabrication of the artwork "Flames.”
